In this video we profile two individuals living with anosmia (the clinical term for the inability to smell), a little known disability that nonetheless afflicts millions. As the leading institute in the world for research on the senses of smell and taste, we also look into the work that the Monell Center is doing to better understand the underlying causes of anosmia and develop effective treatments.

Creating a patchwork of voices to convey the commonality of the survivor experience, we also highlight what it means to leave everything behind and rebuild a life when fleeing abuse. These stories chart a path to a new beginning, made possible through the support and guidance of Women Against Abuse.

Everyone knows we need to eat healthy. For some, nutritious options just aren’t available, nor affordable. The Food Trust is an organization that helps local farmers make their fresh offerings more available to the community. Education about a healthy diet is key. They offer in-school demonstrations about where food comes from and what it tastes like as well as community outreach to parents and families.
Following the theme of the event, Our Stories, Our Voices, this video depicts William Spratley telling the story of his daughter’s tragic murder at the hands of her abusive partner and how that event turned William into the inspirational and passionate advocate against domestic violence he is today.
